So I found a deep blue pro 24x24x12 locally for a good price so I picked it up. It wasn't the reef ready version but I think their overflow is a little bulky anyway.

I ordered a 700gph glass-holes overflow. I didn't wanna drill 3-5 holes in a tank so I took the easy route.
I will update tank equipment here as it comes in.

Drilled 24x24x12 Deep Blue Professional
glass-holes.com 700gph overflow.
2x Jabao RW-4 Powerheads Set to else mode 100% power.
ATI Sunpower 8x24 T5 Fixture (Blue +, Coral +, True Actinic, Purple +, Blue+, True Actinic, Coral +, Blue +)

11.4G Mr aqua rimless tank converted to a sump with custom glass baffles(3 chambers)
Mag 3 or either 5 return pump don't remember but I kept the flow slow through the sump.
Bubble Magus NAC3.5 Skimmer.

JBJ auto top off

I'm sure there is more but thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

Thats water drops in the bottom of the tank. Not scratches.

Solid move with the glass holes overflow, the DB box is HUGE!

I think your post is the one I saw that really discouraged me looking at the one with the overflow. I know its the back but I plan on this being 3 side viewable.

On another note...Plans are made to make the stand. Should be started next weekend. Will hire my father-in-law's help for it. I don't have the skills or tools to make one thats half decent. I'm also going to have to make the stand 3' high because of having a 2 year old. I don't want crayons, half a peanut butter sandwich or whatever the hell else she can think of tossing in it.

I had to order seaflor special grade sand too. Reefflakes are out of stock and a 3 month wait. I figured I'd just do a shallow sand bed with this one and if it blows around too much Ill just take it out all together but I do like sand just for the "natural look.

I'm going to try dry scaping it then seeding with some of my current live rock/ sand. I've never done a dry scape but I think It will be best with this aquarium and with my impatients. Last time I used dry rock for my old 40b I just threw it in....lesson learned. That tank was nothing but algae problems that led me to selling it.

Next major update in about a week unless It decides to rain down here in SC. Seems that every time I have something to do it rains.

I run 14k pheonix bulb on my 29g and I actually like the crisp white of the bulb but I have thought of adding something but not sure. The 250 I have now is about 14 inches from corals BUT its a shitty reflector. I'm going to have to play around with this on the shallow tank and if its too much I may go t5 or led/t5 combo.

I have a couple small updates. Stand was made this weekend. Picture looks like its all lopsided but its perfectly level. I suck at taking pictures. Front door not installed yet either. I'm planning on consealing all the wires and stuff on the top shelf. Ill add a front to the shelf and put one of those outlets with 8 switches on it and hopefully get some controllers to fit on there also. There is enough room for up to a 21" x 25" sump on the bottom shelf. and no this isn't the aquariums home. Its just temporary. Will be painted next weekend. I hope.

And I also found this local. So no waiting 3 months or substituting!. I had to drive about 30 mins to get it but I got 30lbs for 30 bucks. Not too bad.

Oh and that Metal Halide pendant ended up being bent up and a few dings in the reflector after I inspected it. A new one is in transit as I type this.

Thanks. Its def different but after seeing all the shallow tanks around here I fell in love.

As far as sps. I have a few now. I'm going to give it a try and if It doesn't work out Ill prob change the lighting. The only reason I'm using that one is because I already have a ballast for it. Saved a little money just buying the reflector ya know.

I had to build the stand 36" high because its so shallow. I don't want crayons, barbies, or anything like that floating around in it. Having a 2 y/o and a tank is a risk all in its own lol.

Its a little dirty because ive been out of town all weekend and the color is very hard to get with the camera I have but it pretty close. This reflector has virtually no light spread. Pheonix 14k bulb. Oh and excuse the white pvc over the back. I started this new tank and didn't feel like changing it out.

Its close to light color but now that I uploaded it...it seems like the purple is washed out. Oh well.

Alright so I ordered some dry rock yesterday from reefcleaners and about to go out and get some paint and supplies for the stand. Hoping to have this thing up and running sometime early January!

Don't I wish I could take off of work and sand/paint during the week. Whats bad is it may be longer than that. I'm trying not to rush this one lawn....I have a hard time going slow though.

I figured if I leave the stand in the middle of the living room floor my wife will tell me to hurry up and get that thing out of her way. We will see how it goes ;)

I got my reefcleaner rock today. Almost 0 rubble. Great rock. I did my first mock scape amd this is what I came up with. May change 100 times. I suck at reefscaping. I got 30lbs. I have at least half left.

It won't be too much. I had a 250w MH over a 20h in the past and it didn't burn anything up.

I figured too much is better than not enough. I can always raise it!

Oh....stand painting tomorrow.

Well stand is painted. Its made from 2x4s that were planed and 3/4" oak plywood. I think it turned out pretty good considering my lack of paint skills.

The Reefcleaner rock is good stuff....the same stuff as Marco Rock as far as I can tell. Like the scape and stand looks good too.

Is that a real monster truck in the background to show how big your stand is? :)
