OCNcheffy
Alright my tank has been running for 3 months now and all my stats are at 0 but i've never tested for phosphate.. I don't have any algae anywhere in the tank, so i'd assume it's not very high at all. I'd like to be ahead of the game and get some PhosBan in a filter sock, and throw that in my wet/dry overflow. Does anyone have experience with PhosBan?Thanks *Edit* My current mechanical filtration is Chemipure Elite and Purigen. Link to comment
pgrVII
Yes, I've used phosban as I tend to feed my tank alot. I think it's a g per gallon dosage per the package. Keeps everything in check Link to comment
CronicReefer
I personally use Brightwell Aquatics Phosphate Absorption Media. Cost me $15 for a 6 month supply. Link to comment
picoreef78
I used the recommended dose in a media reactor, killed the algae and coral. Careful. I also was running low PO4 0-0.04 ppm. Link to comment
OCNcheffy
I just realized that Chemi-Pure Elite has some phosphate removal in it.. Would this be good enough? Or should I get some dedicated Phosphate removal such as Brightwell or Phosban. Link to comment
14biocubeGuy
At this point, I wouldn't worry about using PhosBan. Later on, when your tank is established and you have more bio-load in your taink (fish ect) then I would consider starting PhosBan. But even When you do have an increased bio-load, I didn't have to run any phosban because I was doing my water changes once a week. How big is your tank? Link to comment

I do weekly water changes every Sunday of 1 gallon. This might be why I've had zero issues so far. The tanks been up and running for 3 months now. Link to comment
14biocubeGuy
Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. If you stick to a consistent weekly water change schedule and your not over feeding, you wont ever have a problem Link to comment
