SonRK
Hey all I am about to pick up a Tailspot Blenny to QT for the next few weeks to add to my Nuvo 30L. Now I don't want to be an irresponsible pet owner, so I wanted to know what are people's thoughts on potentially having 5 (five) fish on this tank. I currently have 2 Ocellaris Clownfish in the tank. I WILL be running a skimmer, provided the PLS-50 Elite doesn't completely suck like my experience with non-elite version. Weekly water changes of about 15-20% is the standard. GFO in a reactor + Chemi Pure Blue I tried to be smart and pick smaller fish, but if it looks bad then I just gotta be told "Hey, that's wrong" and I'll just keep it to 3 fish only. Link to comment
Azedenkae
Nah, that should be fine. You can even add more than that. Although, what sort of Goby are you getting? Link to comment
SonRK
I was thinking of getting the Yellow Clown Goby....but I forgot some might have issues with SPS ? I would have to do research and decide if getting a certain fish is worth the inability to house a certain coral, etc. Link to comment
Azedenkae
Yellow Clown Goby is fine. Never heard of it chomping on SPS. Maybe a rare occurrence, but then anything can be a rare occurrence. Link to comment
ndrobey
Yellow clown gobies can mess up a sps a little when they lay eggs on it. Just don't get a mated pair and you should be fine. Link to comment
nanoreefnate
Yellow clown gobies problem with SPS isn't their eating it. The problem lies in that they can and will perch on most any SPS coral in the aquarium. If you are planning to keep any branching SPS coral make sure they are larger colonies so that when the clown goby does decide to perch on it the whole coral won't become stressed out due to the clown goby. nidding
I'll just tack on here, as I am also thinking about stocking a 30 gallon with 5 fish. 2 ocellaris clowns tail spot/bicolour blenny six line wrasse royal gramma/orchid dottyback I too will be running skimmer+GFO filter and a ATS is planned as well. Could this work out? Sorry if this is thread hijacking, but I figure it's relevant to OP as well? Link to comment
