My name is Sebastian and I will present, in the following, a handmade project: Picolino - Optiwhite.

I ask you to forgive me for my execrable English but all have a beginning (you help me to develop myself)

Equipment

  • Picolino will be executed with ultra-clear glass - Diamond made by Saint Gobain.
  • 14x14x14 with internal overflow and beam animal (reduced to full and open siphon pipes and 1/2 locline return)
  • Stand on the size of 48hx14wx14d divided into two parts
- At the top do have a sump size: 12x12x14H with two rooms (return pump and in the other: skimmer and zeolites reactor)

- At the bottom, another sump with the same dimensions as act as a reservoir for autocompletion and solutions: Ca, Mg, Alk

  • Skimmer: Bubble Magus NAC 3.5 or Tunze 9004 NAC 3+
  • Water Movement: Eheim pump 1002 Jebao DC2000
  • Wave simulation: Jebao RW-4 or Jebao WP-10 with the desire to make crossing to Vortech MP10WES
  • ATO: DIY relay and level sensor (in the future a brand ATO)
  • Lighting: LED 16x3W DIY controlled by a Typhon and Meanwell drivers ELN 60-48P
Spectrum that includes:

Channel 1:

4x3w Cool White

4x3w Blue 465-475nm

Channel 2:

6x Royal Blue: 450-455nm

2x Violet 410-415 nm

  • D-D Refractometer
  • Aquili reverse osmosis

probably it will not need more than 50% of power

I hope you will not get bored and follow with interest this thread

I removed 1 cm on each piece and finally adjusted to fit on overflow box (next step : bonding together)

Nice looking build! :welcome: to Nano-Reef!

For the LED's, don't use cool white. It will make your corals look bad. Instead, use neutral white : royal blue : 475nm blue = 2 : 4 : 1.

What kind or corals, fish, or inverts are you planning to home?

My plan is to grow 2 pcs of Acropora sp. (undecided yet, but something special => full of colors) and a piece of rock with Rainbow Monti.

Fish: 2 clown or 2 Bangaii

Inverts: nassarius, turbo and 1 shrimp

Really digging your plumbing my friend. The glass looks great aswell, I wonder if I could order glass from them through my company at work, it looks like they did a great job on the cuts and polishing

Looks like a good start - and it sounds like you either have experience with salt water tanks or did a lot of research. Looking forward to seeing how the overflow comes out.

That's kinda what I figured. Nice looking reef. It will be fun to see what your do with this new one. There's a stony coral - almost smack dab in the middle of the second pic to the right of the candy cane. Do you have a closer shot of that one? Looks interesting.
