Craig1089
Iv got like a brown bubbly layer that looks to be growing on my gsp purple mat? It's not covering it all just part of it. The picture isn't great but if you zoom in on the left side of the pic you can see it slightly, it has opening for about 2 weeks Link to comment
tentacruelz
Don't see a pic, but sounds like just some algae growing it.. I had kinda the same thing.. I just clean it by blow some water at it with a turkey baster.. gotta keep the mat clean Link to comment
Craig1089
I think it is a form if algae, but the Mat seems to be flaking slightly? Iv blasted it with water but they haven't opened for a good few days, my other lot I got at the same time have been open the whole time. Link to comment
tentacruelz
It's most likely algae, the mat flakes away when parts of it die.. My gap didn't open for over a week when I get them, and I killed some of the mat by trying to rubber band it to something.. best advise from someone who recently went through it is, just leave it be… one day I came home and 3 polyps were out, now more and more everyday as it recovers Link to comment
ScooobaSteve
I've had the same thing happen to one of my GSP pieces... Just blast it with the baster. IMO GSP can be a bit moody and not come out for a couple days if it gets pissed. I've even cleaned the mat with a toothbrush and dipped it in a diluted hydro-perox bath before. Link to comment
