I showed some of my pics to my bud at work and he's like: "wow I want to do that".

I told him what was needed, etc. , so he ordered a IM Fusion 20G starter kit with lights and everything. I think I'm more excited than him LOL. I'll be helping him along the way and told him about nano-reef(which is a no brainer). Anyone else here got excited about something similar here?

Nice, when I show my tank to coworkers all they ever say is - " that takes a lot of work" they love the colors but don't want to take the time.

He's about to retire soon, but I did make it clear of the "work" that is involved. I told him that once things are up and running, he can invest in an aquarium controller to keep things easier. I also told him that I do weekly water changes that take me about 1/2 an hour or less a week on both of my tanks(nanos 10G and 28G). The "work" is well worth it!

I get that often as well. Latest one was the pizza delivery guy  wife opened the door and he said wow nice salt tank. Those are a lot of work if the salt gets off everything dies  yep that's my husbands hobby. She gets grumpy when people come over and want to talk to her about the fish tank. Her response is usually yep that's a salt tank and I don't know shit about it.

Ya- when you think about all the other things people " waste" time on its not really to bad- you can take it as far as you want

Ha! Classic- everyone has a preconceived notion about salt tanks. When people find out I have a tank the 1st thing that ask is "how big is it" then their disspointed when I say 16 gal. - then I have to show them a picture and they just get confused thinking it looks bigger?. Seems everyone knows someone who has had a 100gal. Tank at some point- nano- they don't get it

When I told my parents that I was starting another tank they told me I wasn't allowed to put it in the kitchen (like my last tank). Now my mom is asking me to move it downstairs into the living room so "everyone can enjoy it". I'll be moving out soon but they have decided to take advantage of my love for reefing while I'm here. They ordered two 112 gallon tanks to put in the basement.

Your friend is very lucky to have someone to help him along!

Yeah, it's very helpful that someone holds your hands and doesn't kill everything like I did when I was a noob.

I have delivered. Here's thepic, man what I do for y'all, I had to watch the video and fins the exact frame this was in, save the framw as a snapshot, tranfer the snapshot to my sd card, and then upload it on my tablet on here.

This isn't the best pic but its just till I can get one tomorrow or Saturday.

If anyone wants to know what in it I can add the names.
