Is there any size smaller than the 5.5oz blue? Can I use that much in the filter or is it too much?

Yes, but it's not out until early next year. It's an awesome small size that comes in a five pack with a resealable bag to hold those 5 individual units.

 

You really can't over due media since you couldn't fit enough in the chamber.

I would use what you have now since there is no exact release date. If you need a smaller size mix the 5.5oz up really well and take out the amount you don't need from the bag.

I use the whole bag in mine fits perfect on its own dedicated shelf in SteveT's media rack.
