Visionist
My friend is having trouble with this algae/sponge/something that is spreading fairly quickly and we have no idea what it is. Any ideas? It comes off fairly easily and is rubbery. Link to comment

CronicReefer
I was going to say bubble algae as well. It is a nuisance for sure but trying to keep phosphates/nitrates at a minimum helps to keep it from spreading rapidly. Unfortunately once it sprouts it can be hard to fully eradicate. Link to comment
clownfitch
Ive never seen bubble algae that looks like that. It actually looks kinda cool. Does he have any herbivores in his tank that might eat it? Link to comment
jestep
It's something else. Maybe a sub species of codium or neomeris. Link to comment
Mr. Microscope
Looks like the start of codium to me. Link to comment
