any luck creating pistol shrimp/goby burrow in rock?

I'm interested in getting a goby (Yasha or Yellow Watchman) and shrimp and I'm wondering if you can create a good burrow space in a rock to encourage them to set up their burrow in a preferred location.

I have a live rock in the front corner of my 28 g. nano cube with a perfectly flat bottom. It is about 7" by 3" wide by 2.5" tall that will be sitting on CarribSea Pink Figi Live Sand. Can I drill or carve a burrow in the bottom of this rock to encourage the shrimp and goby to create their burrow there?

Any tips on how of how long & wide to make the burrow or how to carve this? Should the burrow have only one opening or two openings in the front and back of the rock? Any other tips appreciated.
