rone_kevin66
Got 40 lbs of live rock from tbsaltwater. Went through it to look for bad hitchhikers and removed 7 crabs and 3 snails. I think the is an anemone or cucumber and should I remove it or keep it. The tips are green it's the best shot I could get Link to comment
rone_kevin66
Got a better pic of him. He is definitely out more today Link to comment
amphipod
It doesn't appear like any classical trouble makers, let it grow, it could be a very rewarding specimen Link to comment
rone_kevin66
That was my plan unless it was one that will take over my tank. Link to comment
wildbill79
It's aipstasia. Kill it as soon as possible. They will spread and take over your tank. I am constantly battling them. Link to comment
Acielot
Well a relative of aiptasia. Definitely not as prolific but they are still a pest. Link to comment
rone_kevin66
Ok thanks any good ideas on how to kill without having it spread Link to comment

rone_kevin66
Ok will do. I'll burn the shit out of him. I really don't want to use a Chem but I have read good things about Joe's juice Thanks for everyone's help I'll get him before he spreads Link to comment
amphipod
Just because he's an aiptasia relative doesn't mean he's bad, and plus I keep the real aiptasia, they are so easy to remove, wait till they are bigger than cut off the large polyp top, replant it. Then if you so desire to kill it drop salt grains on the pedal disc, works every time. Or just remove all special fish and stop feeding the tank a few weeks they detach to find food. They even go through a sort of moulting cycle where they turn dark and shrivel up and often detach. I've never had any problem moving them, just have Patience Link to comment

amphipod
Well than the solution is salt him in his cave or wait till he moves Oh forgot to mention they turn to mucous blobs in fresher than prefered water Link to comment
aquariumlover10
I say a flower anemone, check out this link for the hitchhikers from tbs. http://www.tbsaltwater.com/thepackage/organisms.html Link to comment
amphipod
You see how your aiptasia hate has affected you, do you see how our bad judgement got a non pest creature most likely destroyed, here OP could have had an awesome specimen Link to comment
rone_kevin66
I haven't killed him yet we will see what happens Link to comment
Acielot
No need to kill it. I never said that. It is a close relative of the aiptasia anemone so it will sting corals, hence it is still a pest. I have several in my tank but I haven't killed them, just keep them isolated from stuff that I don't want stung. Link to comment
rone_kevin66
I will do and make sure it doesn't spread Link to comment
amphipod
Thank you for sparing him Link to comment
rone_kevin66
Can't kill something that hasn't done anything and I actually like how he looks. Hope he doesn't spread and just keeps in that spot Link to comment
aquariumlover10
Yay! I love flower anemones, if he moves try and make sure he still gets food and enough light, flow and ect. More pics. Link to comment
