itskris
Hey guys. New to the nano world. Had a 90 Gallon... Then moved and downsized. Currently have a biocube... It is undrilled. I purchased the 700 GPH kit from glass-holes as that is their recommended kit for 30-70 gallon systems... I have a mag 7 on the way as that was recommended by them AND was recommended by Lifereef for the GPH i'm looking at. These plumbing parts are huge... http://glass-holes.com/700-In-N-Out-Complete-System-innout7.htm What is your expert nano opinion on this... Should I have gone for a 1" system? this is 1.5" and I feel like this is larger then what I had on my 90. Thanks in advance! Kris Link to comment

Kris Not experienced with setting up a sump but will say that after rock and sand my biocube 29 holds 20 gallons of water. Significantly less than the 30 min of your kit. Also I run the water level to the top of the little sight port on the third chamber so would be less than 20 if I ran it where the max line is printed. Just looking at my tank volume and having a working knowledge of piping sizes and flows (work in oil refinery--pumping liquids is what we do I'd say that 1.5" plumbing sounds big. My swimming pool has 2" throughout. Link to comment
aquageek
I just drilled my BC29 and installed a Glass-Holes return and overflow earlier this month. I emailed them and decided to go with the Super Nano con Dientes overflow. So that is 1" drain and I went with 1/2" return and I am using a Sicce 1.5 for the return. It's been running great. http://glass-holes.com/Super-Nano-con-Dientes-Overflow-Box-Complete-Kit-ghsndienteskit.htm Link to comment
itskris
Thanks guys. I ended up emailing them and returning the original kit I got for the super nano con dientes. For the exact reason that TJWaggoner stated... Once the rock is in it is no longer 30 gallons Thanks guys. Link to comment
