Hammer coral - is it splitting?

So got home today to find my hammer looking a little odd, over inflated on one side. All tentacles were wriggling about normally, and this is a pic of it at lights out. Never seen it look like this before!

Looks healthy. I would say Euphyllia more just grow more heads rather than split because they do have to build a skeleton for the next head that comes in.

Euphyllia actually do split. As the skeleton grows each individual head splits into two heads and so forth. New heads do form on the stalks as well.

 

The hammer in the OP looks too small to be ready to split though. You can tell when it has its tentacles retracted if it is splitting which takes a while, not just over night like a mushroom or nem.
