Berlibee
Hello! My name is Alexey and I'm a Russian guy from North Carolina. Just want to say hi guys, I've received today my first order for a nano 20G tank and super excited about the adventure. Shaun ( 4x6 ) just hooked me with his beautiful tank that was featured in November. After talking with him it was impossible to resist anymore. Thank you very much man for help with choosing the right start kit, now waiting for my picO 20G to start using all these cool things! Link to comment
ClaireRenee
to Nano-Reef! Looks like a great start, If 4x6 is helping you out I am sure this will be a stunner. Also, it looks like we have another great photographer on our hands, I will be anxiously awaiting updates. Link to comment

shawnriv
Where did you order the custom tank from? I've been looking to begin a shallow build as well. I also own the Kessil 360W and the Kessil Controller...awesome light, the controller makes life so much easier, and having a controller that ramps up the lights and controls dawn to dusk is just simply awesome. Looking forward to seeing the build! Link to comment

Berlibee
What do you think guys about deep sand bed? Still thinking about it ... there is so many opinions on that question. Some people are super happy and the other part is afraid of it, because it can ruin your tank in several years when it will collect many things in it. Following along based on first post, don't let me down. Joking. I don't like the biofilter media, not sure what the purpose is?? Looking forward to your build! They recommended me to use it at BRS. And Chris told me that I can use Boyds ChemiPure Elite in the second tray, I think that's the same thing right? Link to comment

I syphon my sand bed each week to remove any detritus it may have collected. Just my own opinion, but I think reef tanks with a sand bed look far better than ones without. Link to comment

brad908
Don't do a deep sand bed. They're ugly.Do .5-1" sand bed.Chemipure blue is the better option over chemipure elite. It combines the powers of purigen and chemipure Link to comment
Berlibee
Welcome Alexey! In reading your posts I am thaving trouble getting your Russian/North Carolina accent down in my head. Can you say "sandwich" and "pecans" please. Buzz Hehehehe .... The main problem for me that my first language after Russian is French so this will really open a huge imagination field for you. Sometimes even I can't understand what I'm talking about. Btw, we've just moved here about a year ago. Thank you guys, I'll stick to 1-2 inches sand so. I've just read that there is a lot of good stuff in the DSB like live food etc. and that this is very good to have one around 4 inches. Link to comment
