Craig1089
Iv recently moved my tank and seem to be having issues with my parameters now, iv been told it's the sand that will be causing it. It's not a massive cycle .25 nitrite, .25 ammonia and about 40 nitrate, I have some Red Sea reef foundation 21 day cycle if I dose with this as if it was a new tank will this speed up the small cycle I'm having if I just use bacto start no3p04x and kh buffer as I already have the bad bacteria build up in the tank so no need for nitro bac. Am I right in thinking this or way off? My corals aren't to happy so want it over with as quick as possible. Thanks guys if anyone could help Link to comment

CronicReefer
This is pretty normal when moving a tank. I would use the n03p04 bacteria if you are going to use anything. Also use a product that binds ammonia till the mini cycle is over to prevent any fish or coral loss. Link to comment
Craig1089
What kind of product would bind ammonia? Thanks Link to comment
CronicReefer
I use Kent Marine Ammonia Detox but there are many on the market. Amquel and Prime are two others that are commonly used. I know Amquel will reduce your pH due to it lowering available oxygen in the water but this is only a temporary side effect. Link to comment
