Re-Cycling w/ Already Established Live Rock

So during a move last year my Aqueon Evolve 8 took a turn for the worse and I ended up transferring all the live stock over to my BC29. The tank sat for about 6 months with no flow or lighting with about 6 lbs of live rock. I really would like to start the Evo back up but am kind hesitant about the beneficial bacteria on the rock that is in there. My question is can I take a small piece from the Evo and add it to the established tank to reseed it or even take a small piece from my existing tank to help cycle the Evo? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appricated.

There will still be bacteria in the Evo as long as the rocks were still wet. If you're worried you can still add the supplemental rock as well but I say do a big water change and let her run as you prolly have a small bacteria population already.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I've spent hours trying to find the solution, going to website after website trying to find the answer. Can say this, with all the searching though there's a plethora of information that I missed when I set my first nano up a couple years back that I had completely missed.

The Evo has been cycling for a little over a month now with 10% water changes weekly with RO/mixed saltwater and the levels seem to be establishing but going to continue to let it cycle till I get a better light (stock as of right now) set up for it and add an ATO. Had the Coralife 11in. fuge light for it but seem to go through bulbs at an ungodly rate, they would last about 4-5 months before having to replace them.

Thanks again Pinner
