Lifereef nano prefilter

Hey guys.

 

I searched in reference to the gurgling that comes from the Lifereef pre filter, however the simple solution of inserting a hose line and finding the 'sweet spot' has not worked for me. I was curious if it could be the length of tubing from the pre filter to my sump that is ultimately the issue. Before I cut the tubing back I wanted to first get some opinions as to what I should try.

 

I have about 3 feet of tubing that goes to the sump. The line bows off the bottom of the sump angling upwards. This cause some back siphoning through the hose line, when seeking that special spot. Because the line is bowed off the bottom could that potentially be the reason for the excess gurgling?
