Considering Moving from Nanocube 12 to 20l any suggestions?

I am looking to upgrade from my old Nano cube to a 20 gallon long but I have never transferred fish from one tank to another like that.

I was wondering obviously since I am going to have to cycle to the new tank would saving my water change water for a week or two help the cycle along in the new tank?

One guy told me since I am increasing less than 50% water I would probably be ok if I mixed 8 gallons of new water and added that to the tank with the 12 gallons of old water and just transfer fish, corals and live rock as you go... I am not sure if I think that is the best way to acclimate?

Any tips and pointers would be appreciated.

Also another concern is lighting I mainly keep zoas? Should I go to a buildmyled bar or two? or is there a better option out there?

Thanks in advance,
Tom
