Generally you are going to want to place them on the sides toward the back and pointed up towards the surface for gas exchange. The goal is to create random indirect current throughout the tank. Most people point them toward the front pane which creates a rolling current.

On another note, you will want to upgrade that light for anything more than low light corals.

I haven't been light shopping in a while. PAR 38 bulbs were relatively cheap. Lighting is one of those things you just have to bite the bullet on; it's one of the best investments you can make on your system.

Is there anyway you could recommend any certain light fixtures that are relatively cheap. I'm on a budget.

How much you looking to spend?

Maybe a ReefBreeders value fixture. Nano Box would also be great, lots of people love Nano Box. If I had the chance to do it again that's what I would do.

I'm currently running a par38 from reefkoi.com, at $80 it's about as cheap as quality reef lighting gets.
