nanoreefer21
Well this is my ongoing project for making some low budget(free) dosing containers. Over the last few weeks I've been looking around for things I already have that would work. I know the Fuji water bottles are popular and easy, but wanted to do something a little different but clean looking. Just happened to have 3 acrylic rain gauges sitting around that after thinking about it should do the trick just fine. I'm setting it up to run off aqualifter pumps till I save up for an actual metering pump. This way I can fill up 1 to 2 weeks worth of additives and if it happens to fail and dump too much in I shouldn't be overdosing it that much. Right now this is just setup to dose AcroPower and a few Continuum ones I'm trying out that I got on sale. I've used Brightwell's for years and might switch back if these don't work. Progress so far: 1. Cut the bottom of the gauges off to make it flat. 2. Drilled a hole in the bottom and shortened then glued an elbow in it. 3. Working on the finishing up the bracket to hold them in place. Still to do: 1. Mount and test for leaks and metering. 2. Figure out a top for it. 3. Figure out if a chart I found that converts mm to ml actually works. Link to comment
