anizato
This tank has some history. I began it back in late May 2014, by cycling the 40lb of rock in a Dark Bin ("baking"). Come the end of June the rocks were fully cycled, I then dosed with Ammonium Chloride for 3 weeks before I put the rocks in the tank along with the sand and sump, lights equipment, etc. A week before I placed the order for the two lights, I get a call from the landlady giving me a 60 day notice to move out because she was selling the house. So we leased a new home on September 25th, the tank was up at the new house on the 26th, all of October I ran the two lights and began adding inverts (hermit crabs, nassarius, ceriths, florida ceriths), designed the gracilaria box. There was a "sprout" of brown algae, but it only lasted a day, seems like the CUC got to it pretty damn good. Yesterday, November 3rd I added the first fish, a Helfrichi Firefish, and the first coral, lots of Zoas, Frogspawn, Wallhammer, Wine Mushroom, Ricordea, Duncan Lord, etc to the system. So I decided to begin recording the growth of this tank. Link to comment

anizato
A picture of my Helfrichi Firefish in his new home! The second is a picture of my sump, running a NWB-150 Octopus Skimmer, Eheim 1260 Return Pump, BRS Reactor running GFO. In the refugium I placed a Marinepure Ceramic Biomedia and a Red Gracilaria growing in a plastic container. Link to comment
anizato
Alright, so time has gone by and the coral are extremely happy. I have been keeping maintenance on this system well and things are thriving. The skimmer is doing such a good job, and since I don't have that much bioload, I haven't needed to do a water change yet, but this will change once more stuff is added. I will be adding more livestock by February. The holidays have hit me hard LOL! Here are the pictures hope you enjoy! Any comments suggestions are well appreciated. PS. There is a diatom bloom on some of the rock almost directly in front of the powerhead, which should clear up in due time. Eye Candy. Link to comment
