CAD-Aqua
Hey Fellow reefers! We are excited to announce our new SAIO Series of aquariums. the first AIO that uses true Sump performance equipment! For a few months now we have been thinking, testing out and figuring out how to re-design and improve on the time tested classic AIO. so one of our ideas was to make an AIO that has the performance of our sumped systems, yet still maintaining the AIO's advantage of being all-inclusive, compact and simplicity of use. Space constraints is always a HUGE factor in designing AIO's. Luckily space saving is our specialty. One common issue most people seem to have is that the equipment in the AIO are typically underpowered due to its space constraints such as pumps, reactors, especially the protein skimmer when compared to sumped systems like the Artisan II or other custom aquariums. one solution is our Patented PLS Pipeless skimmers. its extreme compacted size and high performance allows a true sump skimmer in the SAIO Series. Our Pipeless skimmers are about 40% more space saving than traditionally designed skimmers allowing our SAIO a huge boost in filtration power. the SAIO uses Dual 500GPH sump pumps (same pumps we use on the Artisan sumps). New SAIO Series reef system specs: *Comes in 2 sizes 75G (36 x 24 x 20) and 100G (48 x 24 x 20). Ultra clear Low-iron glass front and 2 viewing panels. Highest quality Artisan styled Rimless design and build. *Spacious display area for your livestock. *Dual filter Micron socks with removable custom cut Cell-cast bracket. *Both SAIO 75G and 100G comes standard with our PLS-100 (120G skimmer) with the option of the 100G being upgraded to (2) PLS-100's for heavy loaded aquariums. *Optional NR-1 Pro 50G reactors that can fit easily into the media chambers. both SAIO 75G and 100G can fit 2 of the NR-1 Pro's so you can have one for Bio-pellets and one for GFO etc. *(2) 500GPH pumps for maximum flow. each 75G and 100G SAIO Series comes stocked with 1000GPH of filtration power. these are the same pumps we use for our 50G Artisan II's. *Full glass canopy which will help cut evaporation rates by 40%. we tested this and very satisfied that it allows adequate gas exchange while cutting dramatically the evaporation. *Comes with our Artisan II Piano Oil-based custom Maplewood cabinets in your choice of 36" tall Piano black or white. Works perfectly with the new AI-26's (in the picture) or Radions, Kessill etc. The main pictures are not ready yet until next week but here are a few we took in our showroom. the one in the pictures is our 100G SAIO Series with Black Piano Maplewood 36" high cabinet. its been running for about 1 month now. ninjamyst
very nice! but with IM's recent success with Nuvo Fusion 10g, 20g, and even 30g, will CADLight introduce smaller AIOs to replace their current line up? Link to comment
Deleted User 8
I got all excited unitl I got to the 75g and 100g part. Not sure I would call those nano-tanks...Also, the skimmer is less than 5"X5", I could fit that into my 34g AIO... Beautiful tanks though! Buzz Link to comment
CAD-Aqua
Thanks Ninjamyst and BuzzPion Currently our Nanos are the Mini Series 4G, 8G, 18G and 34G. They are hand curved and we are the only few that are able to curve Starfire glass 90degree that way. making a standard joint rather than a bent corner is definitely easier. definitely something to consider if that's what a lot of customers like. the PLS-100 is 5" x 5" total footprint so if you have that exact or slightly bigger, the PLS-100 will fit into your filter area. ninjamyst
I would definitely be interested in a non bent 30ish gallons tank from you guys at a similar price point to your existing 34g. Looking at all the new Fusion tank threads popping up lately, I think a lot of people will agree that bent corners are out and no longer desirable. Also, many associate bent corners to leaking / cracking tanks. Even if your bent corners are hand curved and doesn't have those issues, the stigma has already been established. To improve on the Fusion, I recommend including stock pumps / media baskets that are actually usable. One of the biggest complaints I have read about the Fusions are poor quality stock accessories. CAD-Aqua
Hi, Ninjamyst Thank you for your feedback. our curved tanks are hand curved in the same way of fine glass furniture, so we never had a problem with our curved tanks. theres no "cutting corners" when curving glass (pun intended). we will have our aquarium designers look into your request. I absolutely agree. A well built high clarity 40" long tank would be awesome. You could do something like 40"x14"x12", with the display side being 40x10x12, and the filtration side being 40x4x12. Bent corners already have a bad rep due to the IM ones exploding, plus they are horrible to photograph around and scrape. For simplicity and to keep the price down I'd stick to a standard corner.
