I have the Hanna Checker for PO4. Kinda overpriced IMO. When I had a HUGE algae outbreak, it read 0. WTF. Then I read it's cuz all the algae is sucking up PO4. So that makes me think...what's the point of the test kit =P. I can tell by amount of algae if I have high PO4 or not.

Thanks. My other tanks I always had a reading on PO4. I want to start running gfo. Cause I've got a lil algae growing. And I've got a friend selling me his for $35 so not all that bad.

Well, finally got around to doing a water change. I've been really bad at this and the algae is starting to tick me off a lil so operation getting back on track is in full swing. lol plus a few of my sps aren't looking so hot. Plus, it also helps I'm taking out this black sand and going barebottom. I've had enough of it sticking to the magnet and the bottom 1" always dirty. And it seems to stick anywhere it lands. So say goodbye. Now for what everyone like some reef porn.

Well drove over to Orlando to pick up my Hanna checker for $35 and tested the water and got a reading of 0.25. YIKES........ Doing a water change today and probably again on Tuesday to get all the sand out and will test again. Hopefully don't have to use gfo bit I've got some in case.

Did another 5g water changed today and took quite a bit of sand out of the tank. I've got a guy over in Orlando by living reef selling some nice sps that I'm wanting to get. He's got about 6-7 pieces here's my want list: green slimer, lime in the sky, crayola plana, Cali tort, blueberry nasuta, raspberry lemonade nasuta, Paris Hilton, and Hawkins. Not sure on the Paris yet. Hopefully the wife will let me get them since we found a killer deal on a Dyson dc65 animal control. Got it for about $320 after everything.

Well I big news a friend was selling a bunch of stuff and had a radion gen 1 for $250 so I jumped on it and just got back from picking it up with a rainbow monti. Now the funny begins. Lol

Well, I've done a 2g wc, 5g wc and another 5g wc to get the black sand out and ive got just the back part left which I'm going to need to take the top rock off and out to get everything. Plan on that tomorrow but so far I'm loving the BB look.

Thanks man. Figure it was a good deal. Believe ecotech is still doing the upgrade to g3 for $175 so for the price of $425 I'll have a g3. God knows I couldn't pull that out at once or be able to save that much at once with my coral purchases. Lol

I'm going to try the bb for now and see how it goes. Friend who's been in the hobby told me to do that with a 1/2 gallon(fill a pitcher up then dump it back in) a day of fresh water and you'll be good to go. So going to take his advice for now. Ive got probably the biggest wc left all the sand in the back and under the rocks left which I'll try to get today if time lets me.

These pics were with the old reef radiance nano still. My new computers hard drive took a crap and my old one couldn't load anything worthy of the radion so I had to delete the partation and reinstall it and install windows sp 2 package which took me about 5 hours to do to get it to work with the radion. I throw a graph on ot yesterday and got the hardware to mount it and it's up now. So far I'm in love and worth every penny. I'm seeing colors I've never seen before with this. And all the colors really pop a lot more. Now it'll be fun to program everything to my likings. I'll try for some pics today or tomorrow after work.

These lights are killer. Don't know how I went so long without them. Lol lil update got a pearlberry today. Paid a lil more than I wanted to but it'll be worth it in a few weeks. Found a local guy selling a deep blue 30 g rimless for $150. Tank, stand, and sump that I'm thinking about buying it and slowly buying stuff for it and setting it up.

This weeks updates. Took a nice trip over to Orlando and saw an epic tank. Met another reefer and saw what mh and t5 can do to a tank. Going back old school and seeing a tank that's 8 years old was awesome. Here's a pic of what I picked up. Hawkins, Cali tort, raspberry & blueberry nasuta, Paris Hilton, green slimer, and probably my favorite crayola. Wish I got a fire and ice and some monti's but I need to let these settle first. And save up some money. Also added 2 banggai cardinals. I'm not sure if they're a pair or not. Hopefully they will become one. Here's a few crappy pics.

In the middle there's another piece of slimer. Need to clean up the piece because it was on the botttom

Well, another big update. Bought a deep blue 30g rimless for $140. Came with a custom(over built stand), custom acrylic sump, and all the plumbing for it. Just need a union to finish it. Still need a return pump, skimmer, dry rock, and few power heads so it'll be dry for quite awhile. Always wanted a 30g rimless for a frag tank next to my huge display. Lol one small step at a time.

Oh and MH/T5 combo is the best there is. Idk what anyone says. It it wasn't for heat,I'd put a 150 over my 7 gallon. But hopefully I can piece this light together and I'll be doing radion pucks and 2x t5 bulbs.

Lol. That's the hard part. I've been waiting for this guy to post some stuff for sale cause he usually does $20 a piece. I still want about 4 monti's hes got and a couple more sticks. Lol I've got a guy that wants to trade some sticks for a few pieces I iust got so I'll get a few ore from him. Than it's saving time for the new tank build. Of course I've got a friend selling 6p of kraks for $100 that I seriously want to buy.

Thanks man. The guy still has a ton more he can frag if your ever interested. I couldn't pass it up at $20 a piece. We in all got about 20 chunky frags and doesn't look like we touched his tank it's so full. He's running mh/t5. I would love to try mh with led for the popping effect.

I'm hoping to run the 30g rimless with a mh/t5 fixture. It not the best fixture (odyssey ) bit it'll have to do for now. I'm planning on buying a Phoenix 14k hexarc bulb and for t5 I have to order from aqua trader and get a 14w t5 bulb and the choices suck. A 10k, 6500k, or 460nm I'm thinking of ordering 2 of the 460nm and maybe 1 each of the other two.

I can wait to see your build man. Sounds like it'll be pretty sweet. A friend bought those pucks off eBay. I'll have to ask where he got them from.

Man,look at Fishneedit.com he has a few 150w halide fixtures for $70 + shipping and Premuim Aquatics is having a sale where halide bulbs are like $40. All said and done it'd be about $130-140 shipped for both pieces. And look at homedepot they have 24" single bulb t5 fixtures for $25 with free shipping to your local store. Then just get like 2 Blue+ bulbs. With that being said you'd be a smidge of $200 for a amazing retro fixture.

Idk about the leds now,the dude is taking for forever,honestly. Plus the front struts in my girlfriends car are straight SHOT,so I'm going to help her replace those.

man i'll have to look into this. i can't wait to see the tek fixture. but that'll have to wait cause i went a lil crazy this week. basically with what i bought i should have been able to buy a skimmer(sca 301), return pump(jebao dc6000), and my 2 jebao rw4s. oh well lol
