So it turns out that the reason I am having such a hard time batteling this hair algae is because it is bryopsis. Nothing seems to eat the stuff and I read that it grows in low nutrient environments. I am using an algeacide and think its helping cuz the stuff isn't so hard to pull of the rocks so something is loosening It up. Anyway I run poly filters in my filter and. I know those pull out like everything but I'm not really sure exactly what. My questions are is the poly pad affecting the effectiveness of the algeacide? And anyone have any good ideas on how to fight this short of taking the rock out and scrubbing or dipping it? Thank you in advance to anyone who responds.
