Halo_003
I would be on that like stink on pigs if it wasn't wider than my planned tank. If it was a 4 bulb.... Link to comment
Horerczy
Coralvue is having a closeout on another T5 Fixture that looks pretty good. http://www.coralvue.com/t5-led-fixtures They have 6 lamp 24", 8 Lamp 24", 4 Lamp 36", and 8 lamp 36" fixtures all with blue leds run down the center for extra pop. Most of the fixtures are $100 and the 8 lamp 36" is $150. You still have to pay for shipping but the worst to send out to me was only around $30 for the 8 lamp 26". Link to comment
farkwar
H, Thanks for the heads up. At worst, they look like good housing for DIY LED tube hybrid builds. Link to comment
Horerczy
H, Thanks for the heads up. At worst, they look like good housing for DIY LED tube hybrid builds. It looks like individual bulb reflectors so it really comes down to the quality of the ballasts on whether or not this fixture is good. The leds are chinese but they're more supplementation. farkwar
The Fiji Sun is pretty bright, and very white with stock tubes. The moonlights are actually 36" long stunner strips on front and back. Not 2 LEDs like I assumed. Lots of fluorescence, my corals are playing fuzzy dog poker. They have to have some violet in the spectrum to get the glow. Doesnt show up in cell pics. Might try the Nikon tomorrow night. In terms of lumens, these require no supplementation. Much more visually brighter than how I set up the Vertex SR260 over the tank, that I took off tonight. And that bleached a purple montipora to white. Time to finally water leak test the 50 Chris built for me, thats where the Vertex belongs. Housing is bulky but light, even with the 3 ballasts inside. I think the fan is 120volt, need to change that out later x 2 per fixture, pretty loud as is; 4 non PWM 140mm Noctuas going in there. 4 thick 3x16 guage power cables, 10 feet long needs wrangling, but individual power to everything. Unlike the CoralVue fixtures with only one, per pic. It looks like individual bulb reflectors so it really comes down to the quality of the ballasts on whether or not this fixture is good. I bought the 4 bulb 36", it will go over my 20 long. It's finally time to replace my retarded 18" oddysea fixture. Link to comment

It only has one wire going out of the fixture but that links to a junction box with three or more cords coming out so you can put individual channels on timers without all the wires hanging from the fixture. That's a feature I'd love to see catch on more with T5HO fixture makers. Link to comment

NorthGaHillbilly
Several people in my local club have gotten these. There's still no final word on I they are really HO balasts, but the leds are spoilt pretty bright, folks were getting 300 PAR on the top and 150ish on the bottom with the 4 bulb fixture I believe it was. gus6464
Damn I am on the fence between the 4x36 or the 6x24 for a rainy day. Do they make 2ftx2ft containers that could be used as frag tanks? Link to comment
Horerczy
Just bought the 8 lamp 24" unit. Don't really need it because i don't keep high light corals but for the price i think it's worth snatching one up nothing says i have to run all 8 lamps at once anyways. Link to comment

Arce
Anyone know the dimensions of the 36" fixture? Width of the fixture. Also how wide is the LED section. Would totally rip those out and throw in some better LEDs. For $100 can't beat it... Link to comment
Horerczy
those are nice mounting kits. little large but definately sturdy. They don't have any in their outlet store. some nice large skimmers and a couple t5 retrofitkits 2 bulb 24" units one with moonlights ($40) and one without moonlights ($20). They also have some reflectors that are 24" and 36" long for t5s that are only $10. also a metal halide body ($70), a 1000 Watt electronic MH ballast. theres an led strip for what appears to be blue supplementation. Anyone know the dimensions of the 36" fixture? Width of the fixture. Also how wide is the LED section. Would totally rip those out and throw in some better LEDs. For $100 can't beat it... 4 lamp is 35.25"*11.25"*3.5" 8 lamp is 35.25"*20"*3.5" fixture information for everyone to see http://temp.coralvue.com/t5-fixtures/ Link to comment
