TCP
Ive been in the process of setting up a 40 gallon breeder (36"x18"x16") reef and have finally gotten to the lighting side of things... Just curious of what peoples thoughts were: Hydra-26 (x2) OR Hydra-52 (x1) Thanks in advance! Any advice is appriciated! Link to comment
gus6464
Pretty sure a single Hydra 52 would have a hard time with the length unless you are not planning on putting anything 5 inches from the sides of the glass. Link to comment
TCP
I am leaning more towards 2 Hydra26's - It is probably the better option, no? Link to comment
farkwar
52 is $600 26 is $400 2x26 is $800 Can you do another $400 for 2 52s? Not for intensity, for coverage. Link to comment
Horerczy
I think I'd rather buy the pucks from ai's part store and build two hydra 52. Get some good cheap heatsinks and fans along with a quality power supply and drivers. Link to comment
masterbuilder
I am leaning more towards 2 Hydra26's - It is probably the better option, no? At a minimum...for coverage. Ideal would be 2 x 52 but you could make it work with 2 x 26 with the right minimal type of rockscape. Not to derail...but...ATI T5 is another option. They work out really nice for a 40B Link to comment
Angel<3Nanos
I say do 2 26's. 1 single 52 would not cover the entire tank. Having 2 26's will be plenty. Link to comment

ItsOnlyThai
I'd also vote for two 26's. One 52 will light the tank, but you won't get growth towards the outside 6 inches of both ends and this comes out to a third of your tank. Link to comment
Spiderguardnano
1 xrw15 and hydra 26 Experiment with it lol Link to comment
