I was having the same problems with sand upheaval in mine too, I just angled my filter a little differently and that worked for me. Got lucky I guess. GL on the top offs!

spotted my 2nd hitchhiker (the pic is kinda bad) starfish

Also, Nitrate levels are down to 3ppm so my cycle is wrapping up.

 

Added 3 astrea snails

ALSOOOOO, I fixed the sand/flow problem. the ac70 has a flow adjustment on it DUH :rolleyes:

Nice setup. Too bad that you had to take down your other tank :(

 

 

its still up and running at the moment, its gonna be a sad day taking it down

I had one of these set up a couple years ago was a lot of fun. Wanted to take it to the office but the boss said no. This thread does make me want to take it back out of the garage. Your set up looks really nice, can't wait to see it with the a nano box over it.

do it! although, biocubes are great tanks and i loved every second of having mine setup.

absolutely, being in chicago area its sometimes hard to find a nice local fish store that sells frags / nano stuff.

I've gotten everything from local hobbyists. Great stuff for super cheap (sometimes free). Check out the Chicago Reef site/forums!
