CronicReefer
Let me start off by saying this is an amazing skimmer for the price. I picked one up earlier this week on amazon.com for $40 with shipping. It requires a decent strength air pump which can be bought for around $15-20. For a total cost of $60 this thing works 1000x better than my CAD PLS-50 that I had to replace after 4 months (seals went bad and it stopped producing bubbles and skimmate). I would say this skimmer works as good as any expensive high end models. I have zero microbubbles in the water column and the skimmate produced is very consistent. The skim and flow is easily adjusted with a gang valve on the air pump, only takes seconds. This skimmer is also very safe for fish due to its design so there is no worry about fishes straying to close if it is in your display tank. The major downside for me since this is in my display is it has a fairly large circular footprint compared to other skimmers in this size range but this does make for a very large collection cup. The limewood airstone also must be replaced every 4-6 weeks (I think a pack of three costs $8-10) but this is a minimal cost in my mind for the quality. I would highly recommend this skimmer to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive skimmer that will produce great results. Link to comment
CronicReefer
It's been one month since I purchased this so decided to do a little update. The air stone is still working well which means I won't have to replace it as often as I thought. The skim that is pulled out has turned very dark and I can go about 4-5 days before emptying the collection cup. Very satisfied with this product so far. Link to comment

Does it make any noise? What are the dimensions? Link to comment

If you have a sump I would say yes for sure, in your display this thing does take up some space so I guess if you don't mind the "eyesore" then it really is no big deal. It is approximately 12.5" x 4" in size. The noise it creates all depends on your air pump and how quiet that is. I use a 4.5 L/min air pump that I only notice if the house is quiet. Link to comment

CronicReefer
What pump do you use? The model is AC-9902 Resun and Petco both sell the same pump. I also suggest you get some type of flow valve because you will need to be able to adjust the skimmer. But any air pump in the 5L/min range will do very well with the skimmer, there are air pumps that have adjustable flow rate dials built in which is something I would have bought but I had this air pump laying around and it just happened to work.
