DaveDe Posted October 23, 2014 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Will be getting the tank in December but I'm looking for a stand now. Since they didn't make one for the 16 I'm thinking about the Nuvo 20G Fusion stand which is the same length but 3" wider. But overpriced at $200. Link to comment
rengb6 Posted October 23, 2014 Share Posted October 23, 2014 I'm using an ikea dresser that I had before I bought the tank. It hasn't collapsed on me yet so I'm going to say it's pretty sturdy. I've also seen many people use those Ikea storage cubes. You can put some baskets into the holes and use that for storage. Out of curiosity, are you sure you want the nuvo 16 instead of the fusion? There have been a lot of issues with the nuvo lately. Link to comment

I also have an ikea stand- older one that they don't make anymore- just make sure to ck the weight limit- also when looking for a stand think about a place for an ATO reservoir container - I have a 3.5 gal. And it keeps for about 8-10 days. ? Link to comment

I need to be more like your wife and get it over with before the holiday season even begins. I'm pretty sure I have a gen 2 and nope it hasn't cracked yet! However, I do have a 6 gallon standing by incase it decides to break before my upgrade. Personally, I wish I had known about all of the issues with this tank before I bought it. I have a good amount of money invested in corals and equipment and if the tank were to fail I'd loose all of that. I'll be buying the 24 gallon SC aquariums PNP system as my replacement. It's $150 without the stand and 250$ with it. Those prices include shipping so...pretty good deal! Link to comment
skyzpop Posted December 2, 2014 Share Posted December 2, 2014 I had to compromise with the wife due to the location of where the tank was going so we went to an antique shop and found an old cabinet. We sanded it down and painted it a color we wanted and it turned out great. It also has great storage areas and enough room for a 5 gallon ATO tank inside. As long as the stand is sturdy enough and has a top that can fit the foot print of your Nuvo tank I think your possibilities are endless for stands. Link to comment
