Allathlete5
Hey Guys!! First post so take it easy on me! Doing a ton of research before I start my first nano reef tank in 2-3 months once the semester is over and work slows down a little bit. I have a 100 gallon african cichlid tank which has been running perfectly for a little over a year now. This tank has taught me so much about the hobby, and now I'd like to start my first SW tank... Anyways, my questions is what are my options lighting wise. I would like to stay with LEDs and something that doesn't have to be hung. Doing my research it's been tough to find anything from the last 6 months about led options on a 10 gallon tank. I don't plan to have SPS corals... I will still to the easy and hardy softies and LPS. Would something like 1 or 2 Current Orbit Marine fixtures work with such a small/ shallow tank with LPS? Or should I be looking at something like the reefbreeders superlux? Obviously I want to try to keep the price reasonable, but I'm open to any and all suggestions! I want something that is sleek and clean, but I also don't want to be completely restricted by my lighting. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Link to comment
DaveFason
Check my Mini series out. It will be clean, modern and work perfect with your tank. I can do custom colors for the exterior of the housing. https://flic.kr/p/pdeUBZ'>https://flic.kr/p/pdeUBZ'>purpleyellowtideG by https://www.flickr.com/people/63309413@N05/'>NanoBoxReef, on Flickr Link to comment
BigRed10
I'm currently running a par38 from reefkoi (coralcompulsion also has nice par bulbs) but plan on upgrading to one of Dave's masterpieces very shortly. One piece of advice I will give, if your budget allows, get a strong enough light to handle any photosynthetic animal now (like Dave's), because your tastes will change and it's cheaper to not have to buy a new light Link to comment
{8ry}
I have the Current-USA Orbit LED on my 20g high nano and I've been very happy with it so far. Check out my tank thread to see the types of corals I have in my tank. I just recent added a few "low light" SPS corals very high up and, so far, they are doing great. One of these fixture would be plenty for a 10 gallon, IMHO. Link to comment
Eckozulu
Nano Box Mini tide, Radion XR15, Aqua Illuminations hydra 26, Aqua Illuminations Prime(coming soon), AI nano (just saw one in classifieds for $140), and maxspect razor nano. I put them in the order I prefer. Link to comment
