SomeWonderfulNonsense
So I've got a brackish tank set up at work and I've been reading that mollies can slowley be acclimated to saltwater. The tank has a really beautiful yellow lyretail molly in it and honestly if mollies werent cheap freshwater fish, it would be a super expensive saltwater fish. Its fins and coloration are beautiful. I plan on getting the fish ready for saltwater over the course of two months so the transition is a slow and painless as possible. My question is should I even do this? Just because it can be done doesn't mean it should, you know. Link to comment
jedimasterben
Two months is a stupidly long time lol. Acclimate them over a couple of days to a week, tops. They're able to move almost freely through brackish, full salt, and full fresh in the wild. Link to comment

I've always had best luck with males, I've lost every pregnant female tho, not sure if it makes a difference or just my dumb luck but thats been my experience lol But I agree 2 months is crazy long. SomeWonderfulNonsense
OK I'll cut it down to about a week. Are they reef safe? I've got lps sps and a few ZOA's all worth more than the fish itself. I know they are messy eaters and I wanna make sure that doesn't include my polyps lol Link to comment
