I have been reading posts on here about which salt is best but it really hasn't helped me choose one from experience which one do you guys think is better Red Sea coral pro or coralife thanks again !

I just switched from coral pro to reef crystals. No particular reason. And must say my corald are responding really well to a cheaper easier to find locally salt. I'd give reef crystals a shot. But also it depends on what params u plan to keep. If your going with a low alk then u may want to look more into like esv or tropic marin since coral pro mixes up to around 12dkh and reef crystals I Beleive was around 10.5-11

I have used them before and for me it's harder to mix and I have had issues with it. I have been using oceanic natural sea salt mix for now and it's easier overall to mix but I'm switching it up on my next water change. Many people have told me the two are great that's why I'm asking for opinions to see who has had experiences with either one !

I used coralife, worked fine but you need to mix it up cold then add a heater after it is fully dissolved so you don't get precipitate. Ca around 500. Mg around 1300, Alk is around 8-9. (red sea tests)

I now use Kent, Ca 500, Mg 1400, Alk 8-9. I mix the same way. I switched because I wanted higher Mg.

I tried Red Sea (not the pro kind), still have to mix it this way but found the levels too low for me. Pro has too high of alk for me so I never tried that one.

Just use whatever mixes to the parameters you want. If you are not mixing your salt up cold first, that may be your issue. It also helps to add salt slowly. Both coralife and kent dissolved quickly.

I use Red Sea Coral Pro, best choice for me. It mixes cold and can be added one hour after mixing it. Clears up in minutes. It should not be heated also.

My parameters are top notch. Don't have any issues.

I use Red Sea. I mix from a 5 gallon tub.

I make 5 gallons and then draw 5 gallons from the tank.

Pump the 5 new gallons up into the tank and then dump the old water.

I mix the salt in a creative way perhaps.

I have my RO/DI water in two 30 gallon barrels. I have a nice pump that will

draw up more than 3 feet and pump it at pressure nicely. It uses two hoses

on the self priming pump (no oil needed). To the out flow hose I attach

a fire hose nozzle. I have it on a pointed high pressure flow - and with the

salt on the bottom of a dry bucket I start the pump and turn on the nozzle.

I blast the bottom of the bucket - moving around and through the bottom water.

I continue this all of the way up to the fill point. I get a very good mix and

since my pump is a high volume, the tank is full in short time. No heater - it was

outside already and maybe 60 or 65 degrees. The nozzle drives like a flexable pump.

The worst part is I'll have to move this water work out to the greenhouse or into the

library. Winter will tell on that one.
