If you're still in need of a great skimmer for your nano or pico reef, you can learn more about the PicO SkiM 2.0 at PicoAquariums.com Does your reef aquarium ever make you feel like a mad scientist? Bubbling skimmers, mixing up chemical concoctions, test probes and high powered electronics, all for your glass box of creepy crawly slimy sea creatures from the ocean depths below! What really goes on in there when the lights go out? Our community sponsor PicO Aquariums has teamed up with Nano-Reef.com to give away two PicO SkiM 2.0’s to two lucky drawing winners. You won’t believe the scary gunk this bad boy will pull out of your aquarium, it’s seriously mad science!Introducing the PicO SkiM 2.0 Micro SkimmerThe PicO SkiM 2.0 micro skimmer is perfect for any rimless pico or nano aquarium 15 gallons or smaller. In small reef aquariums where heat and salinity swings are more dynamic and dangerous than in large systems, it is essential to maintain stable parameters. The PicO SkiM works to alleviate major swings by using tried and true limewood airstones. The benefit to using this system in your small aquarium is not only the ability to fine tune the unit to produce a very dry skimmate, but also the complete lack of additional heat being introduced to your small volume of water.Keeping your collected skimmate dry means there’s less water drawn out of your system that needs to be replaced by top-off water, thus keeping your salinity levels in check and consistently more stable. Many other skimmers use impeller driven pumps to produce bubbles, but the PicO SkiM instead uses limewood airstones for air driven bubble production. This means incredibly fine bubbles with no additional heat added to the system by internal pumps. While this method of skimming is often impractical for larger reef aquariums, it works perfectly for our smaller pico and nano reef systems!Specifications:▪ Height - 9"▪ Width - 3"▪ Total depth - 3.75"▪ In tank depth - 2.5"Included:▪ PicO Skim 2.0▪ 3ft of 1/2" black vinyl drain hose▪ air adjustment tube▪ Premium limewood airstoneFeatures:▪ Small in size▪ Runs in as little as 4" of water▪ No heat transfer from pump▪ Finest bubbles▪ Less salinity swing▪ Hidden collection cup▪ Easy fine tuningRequirements:▪ 20 gallon rated or better air pump▪ 1/4" air line Learn more about the PicO SkiM 2.0 at PicoAquariums.comHow To EnterTo enter the prize drawing simply post a single comment in this discussion with your best Halloween themed aquarium photo.
