How ironic is this?

Don't have pics but essentially here's what happened.

Bought an ORA Premium Gladiator from Divers Den last weekend. Posted the DD photo on my local reef page on facebook saying I WAS SO EXCITED..... Got a few likes, etc, no biggie. Fish arrives Tuesday and I posted an actual picture and included what it was "ORA Premium Gladiator from Divers Den" (essentially). Got more likes, etc. (fish is named Maximus for reference.) After a few hours there were no comments so I commented and was like "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? IS THIS NOT WHY YOU ARE HERE?" - which I know is a bit dumb but I was just trying to be funny.

Got various comments etc, one asking how much, so I answered. Then got a few people posting how dumb that was to spend that much $$$ on "just a clownfish", and saying essentially that people would just see a "nemo", nothing special. This irritated me to the point I ended up just taking the pictures down from the FB page.

Now, the guys who were saying all that constantly show off their new designer/named zoa's that they got for only $40/pp, etc. (not specific here, just saying they show off their expensive zoa frags often.) I have named zoa's as well and I enjoy them as much as the next guy but the logic seems faulted to me. When looking at it from their perspective, aren't named zoa's just "corals"? And why bother having a reef if it's just "fish", why not get guppies instead?

Fast forward some....

A member today posted pics of a Wyoming White clown pair that he got for a steal, one of the guys in question comments "Haha good #### (OP name) where that kid that paid 130+ for his haha jus gotta look around btw did they have anymore". That's what sparked the frustration for me.

Sorry to vent. This just was quite irritating to me. Unsure if it would be better off here or in the lounge, if it's moved not a problem. Any thoughts on this? Should I remove myself from the group? If drama continues I will, especially as it's uncalled for(such as the comment above, where I hadn't even commented at all before that was said). Or am I being overly sensitive after working 34 hours over the last 3 nights?

I feel like you asked for it man lol :P

People probably thought. "oh nice fish I can never afford". But once you called them out, they basically trolled you lol

It happens. It's the internetzzz! :)

I don't get what's ironic about it. It's like that song by Alanis Morissette; it's just about things that suck.

If you like it, why do you even care if they aren't blown away by your fish? It's not like you bought it as this awesome present for somebody else, and they where like "Oh, Nemo, thanks". It's for you to enjoy, and not about getting praise from strangers.

Now somebody please, "Like This" post, or I'll feel bad. ;) Now that's ironic.
