B-Lek
Hi, I'm setting up a 15g frag tank.12" tall,12" deep, 24" long. The t5 fixture I have is a 24" sits right on top of the tank an inch or 2 from waterline. Should I get the light up higher? It has an actinic and 12k bulb. It will contain ZOA's, palys, torches, hammers, duncans, acans, no sps... Link to comment

farkwar
Raise the light higher when you install it. Then move it lower slowly. Link to comment
Reefkid88
48w of t5 is not nearly enough to bleach Zoa's or anything of that nature. If anything they'll stretch for light. If you were doing a 4 bulb fixture I'd say make the light higher off that top of the tank. Link to comment
bdevillier19
I used a 4x24w t5 on a 20 gallon long (only 12" tall) and had it 6-8" off the water and didn't bleach a thing. Link to comment
