91mini
I got this idea from a member of YouTube and tweaked it a little then made a video. If you are lugging buckets around this is a much easier and faster method. Hope this can help some others out there. Changed 10 gallons in about 12 minutes. Video is in real time with no cuts. Some may already be doing this but I thought I'd share for those of you who are not.Hope this helps someone Link to comment

neverrain
I realize this post is a couple months old, but you could totally modify that with an ATO sensor to stop the fresh water from pumping too. Link to comment
Deleted User 8
How do you vacuum out the tank? I like the PVC siphon but I need to figure out a way to put a wand at the end for cleaning the bottom. Hmmm, anyone got any ideas? Maybe some soft, flexible tubing at the bottom of the T with a long stiff rod attached as a leash leash at the other end. You could then lead it around the bottom of the tank without breaking the siphon. Hmmm...now I need to find the soft, flexible tubing. The stiff rod I got... Buzz Link to comment
farkwar
Buzz, Take some 1/2" tubing. Get one of those black grills off a powerhead, in that bag of stuff you dont use. Then a chinese blue hose holder. CA glue the grill onto one end. Bend the tubing a bit, about the height of your tank, use heatgun if necessary. Put the blue hose holder on, tighten to rim of tank. Make siphon, toss other end into your sump sock. Turn off ATO. Siphon away for as long as it takes to get all the poop out. Ill make a video if you cant visualize from text. I would NOT run that SALT WATER into your grass. Link to comment
farkwar
Dude needs to get a video editor and cut out all the waste. Theres only like 30 seconds worth of info, in 9 and half minutes of junk. Link to comment
seabass
I would NOT run that SALT WATER into your grass. This, or get longer tubing and send it to your neighbor's yard. Actually, a floor drain would be best. You should probably put a couple of intake screens on the ends of the Tee fitting so you don't suck out any fish. I know my Blenny would find those tubes hard to resist. Link to comment
