HELP! Toadstool slumped over for 2-3 months

I have a Toadstool under LED's. It has done well under them before, but has constantly been going downhill for 5-6 months. The foot, used to be attached to a rock, however, it would slump over onto the rock. The top of the leather would open up it's tentacle things, but never fully, like it used to when I got it. I went to move it the other day, and I noticed that where it was laying on itself across the rock, was a deterioration that extended into the stalk. However, the rest of the leather looked decent. It also came off the rock. So I put it in a different location in the sand, but the leather is still just lying across the sand. The tentacle things open up during the day, but it's just not like it used to be.

Question, can this thing survive? Is it ok to leave the foot in the sand? I've tried propping it up, but nothing works.

Thanks in advance!

Mine did that for over a year finally slipped off the rock and it thought it was dead. It is actually coming back the the polyps are opening. My water tested with in reason so I knew it wasn't my water. I also have a toadstool that actually split and left babies but I think that is because I had a blenny that perched on it.

I never take anything from my tank when it looks dead but I do watch my water parameters.

Maybe give it some viagra to "perk" it up???

J/K..... But seriously, toadstools can be temperamental. What does the head look like, is it shiny? Have you seen anything sloughing off of it?

Actually, if it was me, I would probably get rid of it since you have stated that it is deteriorating. They can foul a tank.

What do you feed it? It's moving away from its location (decided it wasn't good enough, maybe flow/light/some other coral), and the feeding response isn't as stark, right? Try target feeding it and see what happens. And in the meantime, maybe check your carbon to ward against the chemicals it might be putting out (and that other corals, if you have them, might also be putting out).
