Gooburz
Birds nest is not my favorite, it looks good through. I threw in 2 frags of it and it grew like crazy and over took my tank. Sold it off ad thought it was gone and then BOOM, 4 more frags popped up put of nowhere and got rid of them and then more frags grew out of the rock. Was insane lol Link to comment

I've lost a couple of branches that snapped off when I was moving it... might see those around later lol. It's lost a good bit of color, probably because my lights were a lot stronger than the LFS. Growth is good though. Link to comment
mystersyster
Derasa decided the spot I had him in wasn't good enough. He turned around... sigh. Oh well. 05/25/2016 Link to comment

mystersyster
6/2/2016 Polyp extension was amazing after doing 2nd five gallon water change with Aquaforest Probiotic reef salt. Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Who knows. Time will tell. Everything is stable. Calc: 410 Alk: 7.7-8 Link to comment

mystersyster
7/2/16 First day back on the railroad. Needless to say I'm out of shape, but I feel better after walking a bunch. Probably around 10,000 steps today. Came back home to some new livestock, clean apartment, lovely wife, and crazy dogs. Yesterday my wife and I traveled to barrier reef aquariums, one of my LFS. They had a live stock 3 for 2 sale going on. Had to get something, so I picked up the following. Ten heads of "Armor of God" zoanthids. This is my first soft coral. Got is for 40 bucks which seems like a great deal compared to shopping around on the internet. Next up is my first Acropora. It is a beautiful deep purple. I'm hoping to keep this one colored up, and thriving. Finally, my love for clams overcame me. Inspired by Dr. Felicia herself, I picked up a big ol' Derasa clam as well. I haven't seen any this big for sale until yesterday. It's another ORA clam, but with different coloration and markings than the one I have. Came home today to realize he was much bigger than I previously thought. Acclimating him with plastic sandwich bags, although I think that he is more than willing to handle the intensity of my light, considering how spread out he is. So, I'm basically to embarrassed to post a FTS currently... my tank is struggling with cyano. Aside from that all parameters have been stable for months, and everything has bounced back from the electrocution a few weeks ago. Once I get my new salt, and can give a few good water changes, a FTS will be incoming. Link to comment

Elizabeth94
Your clams are lovely! Keep an eye on calc and alk with those things. They will suck it up really fast! Link to comment

mystersyster
Your clams are lovely! Keep an eye on calc and alk with those things. They will suck it up really fast! Thank you! That's good to hear. They've been a little temperamental. Being the favorite part of my tank I'm always tearing my hair out every time something seems off. I've been dosing 2 part about 5 times daily (on timers). I tested after I got my big clam and some new sps. The ALK was still fine but the calcium was down to 370 I bumped it back up to 420 since then. Gonna test today to see how it's doing. Are you still running the Ocean Revive? Growth looks great I am running the ocean revive. The arctic t247. I like it a lot, but I've had trouble with it. I had it set at around 50 percent blues, 30 whites for a long time. All the corals I got lost their rich color and became pale. I found out that "50 percent" wasn't actually 50 percent, more like 85. Since then I've dropped it down to 34 blues, 28 or so whites. Still get great growth, and the color of my new SPS hasn't faded. Link to comment
Gilly's Reef
Thats good to hear. Im looking into a new light and I'm considering Ocean Revive. You have it over a 40 right? Im planning a 40 breeder too but painting one short side black and setting it like a peninsula Link to comment

Im planning a 40 breeder too but painting one short side black and setting it like a peninsula Yeah I have it on my 40. It's hung at about 15" above the water line. That sounds like it would be a good build. I considered that before, but don't really have the space for it. :/ Link to comment
mystersyster
About equal parts growth/death on this bad boy. Acropora is encrusting fast, even with cyano trying to block its way. My digi and spongodes monti. Finally my clams seem nice and puffy. Fed the tank aminos and reef chili yesterday. They look extra lovely today. Link to comment
el_ote
Nice tank! love the clams!! How are the fish since the treatment? I like those dosing containers you're using. Have you had any issue with the lids being metal? Link to comment

Have you had any issue with the lids being metal? Yo yo. Thank you, if you fed my tank reef chili I promise my clams would love you as well. The containers were kinda my only option, as Ross and Marshall's haven't had the plastic lids in my area for a while (still looking). The only issue I've had is that they've rusted on the top from being splashed on, and setting my test kits on. Link to comment
mystersyster
Update time! Picked up four new frags from three local hobbyists at my first frag swap. Lots of good pieces for cheap! Here we go! Now for my established coral. Link to comment
