Shallow Tank Radion Users, what template do you use?

As the title states,

What do all of you shallow reefers use for a template on your Radion?

As of now I'm using Radiant Color, starting at 10AM and ending at 9PM. I have it maxing out at 50%, with scattered chances of thunderstorms.

I thought of trying High Growth but it seems to be high intensity, which idk how some corals would fair under that.

What are you guys all using?

So you run your lights for 12 hours a day? I ran mine for 12 yesterday and my frogspawn looked a little shriveled and pissed off by the end of the day. He looks great this morning, but I didn't know if it was too much or not.

What was your photoperiod before 12 hours? You have to be careful about intensity/time if the jump is big.

Usually when i increase the photoperiod of a tank i drop intensity for a few days then work my way back up slowly.

I have the 30L and using a XR30 Pro, I run the Shallow Reef Template 10AM to 9PM,60% thunderstorm,)% Cloud,24ft Depth with a Max intensity of 50%.

I have a 30L as well. Any chance you can attach your graph?

It'll have to be tomorrow but it's builtin to the web app just choose the shallow reef and apply my settings.

It is built into Apex for the Radion?

Radion, some reason I cant get the Radion to look the way I want with the Apex, so I use it to control just my Vortechs.

Arkayology,

I used your graph to create something similar with a 20% max for my biocube. When I transfer it over to my 29x18x12 tank, I will prob bring it more in line with what you have. What is the dimension of your tank?

You rely on 20k mostly. Are you still trying to grow your corals or are they mostly grown out? Does running predominantly in 20k shorten the life of the leds or is that not an issue?

You probably don't want to give your frogspawn as much intensity if you want to run your radion for 12 hours. That's a lot for LPS. I run an SPS tank so my corals can take it.

My tank is 24x24x16. I don't think that using the 20k really matters a whole lot in terms of shortening the life of the LED. I get plenty of growth and good color. I am basically looking for both :)

I like that you transitioned through the day and that is something I was looking to do as well.

I turned them down to 10 hours a day, 50% intensity. 12PM-10PM

It's not really about the amount of time they have under the lights, but the % intensity mostly. If you have mostly LPS and soft coral, I would lower the intensity.

I only have one frogspawn, but will be mostly SPS once the tank is better established.

Ok then. I would probably lower the % intensity so that you don't overwhelm the frogspawn. Maybe place it a little lower in the tank once you get more SPS and turn up the intensity for the SPS.
