Ricordea question

They don't change color based on size, but they can certainly change color over time based on the conditions of your tank based on nutrient levels, lighting and to a small extent flow (they don't expand as much in high flow and hide their base color).

The biggest thing most people will see is them either losing or gaining color after initially getting them depending on the conditions of the source system vs. your conditions. I never get colors as bright out of Ricordea in my pico as I do from my tank at home even though all of the rics in my pico are either fragged from my home system or transplanted.

Very interesting, thanks for the reply.

So far they are all keeping their colors as I bought them at. One I have which is quite small yet is the most interesting color I have ever seen. Its a turquoise color and I have never ever seen this color before so I had to have it for sure. When I can get a good pic of it I will post it. I just love this one. I am keeping my eye open for a baby pink, this color is so hard to come by but my supplier I buy from keeps on asking everytime she does an order. So maybe oneday I will get that one. One of the other colors I have has the baby pink mouth so very neat.

This time the rics are doing much better in the bigger tank, also the light has to reach at a deeper depth for them which is also a good thing compared to last time, this tank is a tall I am happy how everything is doing so far in it.
