rdck99
I just got a very pretty RFA and he's taken up residence on the sand bed. I also purchased an anemone crab at the same time. The RFA is maybe 3" in diameter when he's fully stretched out, and the crab is probably close to 2" in length. They're not hosting yet. Is the crab perhaps too big for this particular RFA? Has anyone seen a RFA host a crab that's nearly as big as it is? The crab has taken cover beneath an overhang, right above the RFA, so he must see it, I'm just wondering if my hosting wish will likely be for not, or if I should just be more patient. Thanks for any input! Link to comment

rdck99
I have a tiny flower hosting a crab bigger than it Precisely what I was hoping to hear! I've got clowns living with torches, frogspawns, and toadstools and a goby/shrimp, but nothing's ever found each other. Hope my luck turns. Link to comment

They'll just go wherever they please basically Mine still hasn't moved much, but I suppose he's still getting comfortable. I know they'll host RFA, I was just curious they'd host, if the RFA isn't much bigger than the crab itself. Link to comment
BulkRate
Mine will not leave its ricordea garden and completely ignores the much larger rock flower anemone just 6" away. They're arbitrary. Funny thing is that I've had such bad luck with anemone crabs WITHOUT having any compatible anemones in the tank that I just assumed that was what was needed and added one when trying again. Nope, little guy just wanted to see me drop some coin for no good reason, apparently. Link to comment
Tamberav
haha ya I don't for a second believe they NEED nem's. I used to have 1 nem but 2 crabs... so one was always left without a nem for about a year and he did just fine (still have him). He would just chill in the palys. Another person here has had two for a long time but no nem's and they sit in their xenia. Link to comment
