GregBox
Hello all, thank you in advance for any advice you can give me. I have a year and a half old hammer coral that has grow from a nickle sized single head to a softball sized monster (in my 20G). I am asking for you help becuase it looks to me that the colony has tissue on all of this "stalks" and I am worried that fragging it might cause more harm that good. Do you think that I can safely frag this coral? or should I let it be and try to move my Xenia out of its path? Link to comment
clownfitch
The individual stalks are plenty long enough to frag. It is advisable to try to stay at least a 1/2" from the soft tissue under the polyp but more like an inch or so is even better. Link to comment
beyondcomp251
branch are the easiest, not worries of flesh, just pluck the stalks off Link to comment
GregBox
Thank you so much for you help. I am going to set up the QT tank and get this broken up this weekend. Any recommentations on duration of QT before returning the new frags to the display tank? -Greg Link to comment
clownfitch
No need to QT them if they are coming out of your tank. Link to comment
