Han Solo
There's a good how to on youtube by "The King of DIY" on how to build a glass water bridge. I have a long 20g and 10g I was thinking of doing this to. Anyone have first hand experience with this? I'm talking about a little more simpler than.... Yeh... Link to comment
Alexraptor
Nope, but seriously contemplated it a few times. Link to comment
vlangel
I cheated and just moved one of my 2 returns over to the new tank. BORING!!! but it connected the systems. Link to comment
Crispy0
No, but it's definitely a cool concept. Link to comment
Han Solo
I'm waiting for my second 10g to cycle but as soon as it's ready/same parameters as my 20g, I think I'll try to make one out of glass. I was originally thinking acrylic since I have a large piece I bought from home depot (like $50). Unfortunately I realized that it's probably plexiglass which means it will eventually warp and turn yellowish. I should have gotten the real thing, acrylic. Glass might be harder to work with but cutting it is quite easy with the right tool. (and ends up with much smoother edges) Link to comment
streamline.by.design
I have a water bridge with PVC. Works great. I connected a new tank to and existing system and the cycle was near nonexistent. Coraline growth in a 1/4 of the time. Really helped stabilize the system. One thing I do differently though is I have a small 90gph pump pushing water from one to the other and then the water bridge. So there is an active circulation versus passive. adds a bit more flow and is great if you put corals right around the water bridge exit for particulate feeding. Link to comment

Mr. Microscope
Neat idea, but I imagine unless you had a really low nutrient tank and a killer CUC, that it would slowly become an eyesore as the glass gets coated with film algae. I think it would also be really tough to clean. Link to comment
streamline.by.design
http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/332882-ying-and-yang-side-by-side-evolve-8s/ This is the setup I am running. I extended the down pipe on both sides due to it being a pain resetting the siphon when doing large water changes. Link to comment
