I am picking up a fuval spec v tomorrow which I want to turn into a reef tank. Probably just keep zoas in the tank. I am wondering what light would work that's not expensive. And what flow and where did you place the powerhead. Pics and links are greatly appreciated!!

Most go with the mj 606 to replace the stock one. I filed out the stock nozzle and the flow was so much the power head was not necessary. I then added the IM spin stream that reduced flow but made up for random flow. I then added the power head to kill dead spots. If u just file out the stock flow nozzle with the 606 it can becom too much flow to a point.

Heres what i have done so far.

I just joined the spec club too! I think for lighting I'm going to use the marine orbit. Reasonably priced with built in timers and def. enough light for the tank. Flow I'll be upgrading to the 606 and probably a small koralia for dead spots. Of course is recommend the surface skimmer and media basket.
