specore
I think Im going to move my second heater to its own outlet and have it kick in if the tank gets below 76 and go off once the tank is back up to 77, or some such thing. This is how I have always run my 2 heaters. I would recommend an alarm tied to the second heater also, this way you would be alerted to a potential malfunction with your primary heater. NorthGaHillbilly
How goes the re-plumbing in colored pvc? No progress up to this point, Ive got a 1" gate valve in the mail supposedly, at some point im going to get some red PVC from HD and make it happen. I havent made any changes lately, just a 10% WC each week an letting things go. I did pick up a few new corals, I bought a few weeds, tho the names escape me, and a birds nest colony. I only wanted a frag to try out, but the guy was selling the colony for the price of a few frags, so Im slowly giving away the rest, but currently have birdsnest temporarily placed all over. Current frag rack shot, notice the new weeds and birdsnest frag https://flic.kr/p/qq1ofF'>https://flic.kr/p/qq1ofF'>20141214_165207 by https://www.flickr.com/people/125603963@N06/'>North Ga Hillbilly, on Flickr Birdsnest in the fuge, under a PC bulb The cheato has doubled in volume over the last few weeks. 20141214_165458 by North Ga Hillbilly, on Flickr Ive really had a huge bump in coraline growth over the last few weeks. 1/4 tsp kalk per gallon in the top off, right at 1/2 gallon a day, and my alk has been rock solid and the SPS seem to really appreciate that. 20141214_165524 by North Ga Hillbilly, on Flickr Link to comment

NorthGaHillbilly
Hey look, an update. Love the frag rack. Need more SPS. In time... my decent camera was pilfered by my Momma for the holidays, but Im going to try and get a decent FTS here before too long. Ive got a couple of acros that are looking pretty good Ive got a lot of stuff in the tank that I want... but dont really want in the main tank. As stuff grows out, its getting rather full, and some things have less priority than they did when I got them. So Im debating a frag tank plumbed into the system, not sure on lighting, but might even try a LED fixture (probably of the cheap and Chinese variety). Im thinking I might build one out of acrylic, Im thinking 18x18x10, herbie overflow. Redo the manifold to run the frag tank, main tank return and carbon reactor.... hummm Link to comment

NorthGaHillbilly
Your frag rack is looking pretty nice man! Really like that convict.... Thanks man! its a killer piece, the colony was a serious sight to behold, on the edge of laws you can see the baby blue, which showed as big splotches on the main colony. They are serious bugger frags, but Ive grown em from smaller Link to comment

NorthGaHillbilly
The right side of the tank has had less than stellar flow from the get go and i finally got the situation remedied. I had the sicce 3.0 dialed back in order to keep from blowing everything away, it wasnt as much that there was too much flow, but rather it was too directional. I added a splitter to the loc line and have two 3/4" lines running in the tank now, with the sicce dialed up to full power. So I should be getting around 550 GPH out of it total, and have pretty consistant flow all over the tank, all SPS polyps are blowing around randomly but the LPS stay in place... NorthGaHillbilly
Thanks guys, I'm finally feeling really good with thi ng s and alk has finally stabilized after a long time of trial and error. yup the feeding pics look awesome. how often do you feed your nem?he gets fed pretty much everyday, just drop a few pellets on him when I feed the fishes. But when I feed the coral, every 3 or 4 days, I spot feed everything I want to, then shoot what's left on the nem. It's been really inflated out lately, can't imagine it's reaching for light, I have the feeling it might be splitting before too long Link to comment
