No worries, I can reverse engineer it from just looking at your pic. lol

What do you do at work man? You're prob a pro at building things, so you have confidence in your designs, unlike the rest of us... anyway, can't wait for this to get wet!

I build custom cabinetry and furniture, which leads well into building things for a tank, stands obviously, but I also end up cutting glass for doors, installing low voltage lighting, motorized hardware for doors... all that jazz. Thanks for your compliments, Im not sure Its all applicable, but I'll take it

I got the tank I was planning on using for my sump... and it had a broken side  I took and cut up a spare tank to make a new side and got it glued in, as well as resealing the rest of the tank, so well see if it works in a few days.

Im collaborating with Psychosis on the design for the overflow. Hopefully I can get the design worked out well enough tonight that I can get atleast part of it cut tomorrow.

(the tape is holding the seam tight while the silicone dries)

I'm looking forward to this build. I almost purchased one of these tanks, but decided. It to because the stand wasn't big enough to put a good size sump with a good skimmer. Definitely dollowing along.

I didnt look at the DB stand, but I expect its lower than I think it "should" be. I went with enough room inside the stand to put an 18" deep sump in, as well as tall enough for a reef octopus 150. Hopefully I can make it work for me

Heres the work of today... Now its not 100% I need to source some weldon 16 to seal up a small leak on the external box, but im gettin there

I just might! If kat's acrylic guy doesn't come through, though I think sir hillbilly would probably do a better job!

And the ####er made it :). Guy has skills I tell you. Ben get him to make you a overflow cover :).

I know right, I could weld a stand, for a tank that didn't require a cambered stand... that would be the extent of my skillful diy's. This hillbilly could have his own show like tanked, only instead of cheesy ass tanks full of fake stuff, he could do tanks and stands that look like something worth paying $$$ for.

Don't pump him up to much we will have a high class hillbilly before we know it :).

Im not sure that I could do a better job, but I do plan on messing around with acrylic more, its a pretty cool product to fiddle with. I sourced some 3/8" clear locally, looking like itll be around 170 for a 4'x8' sheet. Now to come up with something to build...

Now your just being ridiculous, but I'm not going to argue, if I got paid to toy around with DIY stuff all day, id be as happy as hog in slop

I've always loved the dimensions of that Deep Blue...

I am liking it more and more. I wish they had a 24" deep version available rimless, but its a great tank, especially for the money IMO. I was really supprised with the build quality, I like that they use a frame on the bottom, not AS sexy, but makes me sleep better at night.

Heres a insight into the hillbilly life some of yall might find interesting.

Back from the time of the revolution till the huge increase in beat sugar production around the turn of the century, sorghum cane was the main source of sweetener in the South. It looks similar to sugar cane, but is from West Africa and is still grown for use as cattle feed in the mid west, tho a different strain than syrup sorghum.

My family grew and processed sorghum for a LONG time, but recently started it back up. This weekend was the annual family reunion like event. In the video we were replacing the horse with a golfcart  , now were big time and have a different mill driven by an electric motor, much simpler.

Someday, I may upgrade to something with similar dimensions. Following along.

Not much progress today, but the sump is clean, and also holds water, getting glass for the baffels tomorrow

And got the plumbing inside the box worked up, decided to go ahead and go for the BA setup

2 Dursos and a emergency?

Sweet work on that overflow dude. After making my own internal overflow box I think I would have definitely have gone this design doing it again. Would have allowed me to get away with not having to drain half the tank to silicon the thing on and I could have retained my drilled return line instead of sacrificing that for the backup drain.

Decided to go with the bean animal setup, so it a main drain run as a siphon, secondary run like a dorso but with a overflow backup to turn it full siphon, and a second worst case scenario

Thanks man, I think its going to work out well, my current oveflow box is bulkhead mounted and I really am fond of it, so I was pretty keen on the ghost design when I saw it
