Need help choosing right heatsink size

I have a 55 gallon tank (48" long and 12" wide). I am piecing together a DIY LED light and don't know what size heatsink would be a better fit. I am going to go with either 2 -12" or 2-18" heatsinks. My concern with the 12" is if it will focus the light too much due to its short length and only having soo much space for the led's. I am only going to have a total of about 38 LED's spread across 2 heatsinks. The reason there are so few is I am going to use the 12 watt luxeon M Royal Blue's (8) and only need a small number of them. The rest are a mix of neutral white (16), true violet and hyper violet (4 each), and OCW (6). I am sure that the 18" would be fine, but if I the 12" will work fine then I'd rather save money on the heatsink so I can spend that extra money on other parts. Thanks in advance for your input.

I would go long.

With 48" one. HeatsinkUSA.com, I would do the 5.9 inch.

And then populate it with pucks. 4-8 depending on budget.

Use the RLL controller and RLL drivers right on the fixture. Control everything from your tablet.

Youll only have one cable coming from your power supply going into the light.

Long, clean, lean, and mean.

Nano Box pucks are $60 each

RLL pucks are $75 each

Radion G3 pucks are $75 each, must buy in pairs.

Radion G3 Pro pucks are $125 each, must buy in pairs.
