Paleoreef103
ordered a QUAD and am now looking to upgrade my tank, what size tanks do you quad owners have They can go about 40X20X20 with good coverage. I'd be more comfortable with one over a 40 breeder if I wanted to keep an SPS reef. Link to comment
brad908
I had an older version quad on a 36x18x18 and it was good Link to comment
HRCOReef
Just order one for my custom PICO 37 X 18 X 13 Link to comment
TigerLily
I have mine over an IM Fusion 30L, which is 36 x 15 x 13. Could definitely go bigger than that. Link to comment
BillyW
Considering a few tanks, have seen lots of DUOs over 24x24 tanks, so was considering a few and would like some insight either a 24" cube-60gallon, the 36x18x20- 57 rimless the 36x18x24-65 or the 48x24x16 rimless, I like the Deep Blue tanks, so if anyone has thoughts I'm open for suggestions!!! I'd prefer 2 duos over a 24 cube for better front to back coverage. A quad would be fine over the 57 and the 65 with smart stocking. I wouldn't expect SPS on the sandbed on a 65, but for a mixed reef you should be happy. I wouldn't recommend the light over a 48 unless you're planning on hanging it high and keeping a lower light tank. It might be able to do an LPS tank if hung high enough for good coverage on that tank. Honestly, if I was building that 48" x 24" tank I'd talk to Dave and have him build a "hex" or "ocho" with T5s for me. Link to comment
BillyW
Yeah I am either going to do the 57, or the 24" cube with the quad diagonally hung above it, thanks for the reply! Link to comment
BillyW
So i can get a sick, sick deal on a 24x24x30...if i put a deep sand bed in it you think the quad would work on this? and only grow shrooms and chalices on it or is that too deep, because it looks super super deep looking at it? BillyW
How's the coverage you think you could have gone 36x18x24 or 36x24x18? Link to comment
DaveFason
How's the coverage you think you could have gone 36x18x24 or 36x24x18? Billy, Either honestly. The 24" width tank will be pushing it but who puts stuff behind the rocks Link to comment
BillyW
I agree, plus I have tons of chalices I could put up there and believe would be fine! Link to comment

brad908
Brad, how did you attach the conduit to your stand I was at lowes yesterday and it feels really heavy? Home Depot had these thick plastic pieces that came with the nail attached. I will take a picture when I get home tonight. They are flat on the one side, then arch for the conduit piece. BillyW
Not as sexy as brads but a work in progress. This is my second nanobox, I had the mini before and now the quad. The spectrum is second to none, you can customize it to whatever you really want to. I had a Kessil a350W on the tank just waiting for this light, and let me tell you the differences are night and day. To be honest don't know if I would do the bluefish again, as the storm does the same thing as far as lighting control. Absolutely love it on this tank, and its only running at 55%blues and 45% whites. The best thing about it compared to what I noticed with just a single kessil over this tank is there are pretty much NO Shadows at all because the pucks are spread out enough to cover each other and make it an equal fill of light. Am impressed 100%!!! Thanks Dave Link to comment
