Night settings with a storm controller

The night settings using a storm controller seems to be bright. I have 6 white and 6 blue leds in my 14 biocube and have the dark settings down to zero but it still seems bright for moon light.

 

Is there a way to turn the lights completely off using the storm controller?

 

Should I turn them off?

 

Would I mess up the settings if I put the controller on a timer?

 

I am 6 weeks into my tank. This my first go at it. Thanks in advance.

In case anyone else wanted the lights off at night, you can switch the dimmers to channel 4 and 5 and it will let you set the lights to zero.

I don't use lights at night. Mine are set to zero.
