So i bought this thing a few weeks ago, its in the middle of my tank and under LED lighting. IT attached its foot undera rock and stretches all the way out and around to get to the light. Anyway he used to actually be green, and had much more bubbly tips. Ive read that the tips can vary sometimes being skinny or bubbled out but i just dont think he looks right and dont have any experience with these guys. anyone got any ideas? sorry i know crappy picture

Looks very happy to me. Colors can fade with weak lights or not enough food. Feed it meaty foods like krill or small chunks of silversides. If it stretches out it means more light. If it pulls back into a hole and hardly comes out that means less light.

No-one really knows why BTA's sometimes bulb-up or have long tentacles. Yours looks very healthy. As long as the mouth doesn't open up wide or look like it's turning inside-out, you should be good.

Looks fine to me as well. None of mine have ever bubbled much. If he's not bleached, drooped over, melting, or cruising around the tank, he's probably in good shape.

well that made me feel a lot better thank you! you say feed him shrimp, i have these whole frozen alaskan shrimp, shell, legs and all. Is that the kind of shrimp you mean for feeding this guy? i used to give them to my snowflake eel

That shrimp should work well. make sure it's really chopped up. I also wouldn't feed it too often, maybe once a week. They can't digest like a fish or eel. I've heard of people over feeding them several times and the undigested shrimp or fish ends up decaying them from the inside out.

so like one shrimp a week? or maybe start off with like half of one? should i be taking the shells off of the shrimp to make it easier to digest or will he be fine eating the legs and shell?

yes de shell the shrimp and chop it up into little pieces the size of chicklets. Give it a small piece once or twice a week.

Also don't freak out when you see it all shrunk up and brown goo is coming out. It's actually taking a poop when it does this.
