charnelhouse
it was awful. i had no fish. only corals, my two sexies, and GIANT amphipods. they were aggressive suckers too. was more than happy to lose most of them in the 8g upgrade. though i think at least one bristleworm hitched a ride. i see little things whisping around in new tank, but they look more like coepods, for now. My Citron Goby dive bombs pods all day. Snacks! Link to comment

cindyp
How big of amphipods? i'm assuming you're talking to me? if i assumed wrong, oh well. ha! 1/2 inch. big nasty things. i totally would have donated them to you too. ha! but they are hard to catch. Link to comment
amphipod
When I amphipod "hunt" usually I will take their sand, mud, algae, or whatever they get on to capture them and their army. I've (as indicated by my forum name) always been fascinated by them One way I suggest to solve the infestation is just utilize them as awesome pets, tweezers feed them, they usually eat directly from the tweezers for me, at least the freshwater ones do Link to comment

amphipod
so, you should probably find someone to import one of these from new zealand for you Those priceless beauties if I could I'd have 1000 tanks overflowing with amphipods like them check out phronima and talitrus. The only ones I've kept so far are gammarus, and some funny one that looked real similar to my profile pic, but was slightly different. Link to comment

cindyp
Were the dream squid big like the Humboldt, or little like the glass squid? they were small and dark and bursting from my eyeballs. maybe tiny ink squids? (though are those always pale?) anyway, if i were a horror novelist, the image would be incorporated into a future story. ha! Link to comment
amphipod
That's pretty creepy at least it wasn't a giant terrestrial phronima attacking you, then I'd totally blame it on the conversation. lol Link to comment
